Kenny Chesney, Entertainer of the Year
En una cerimònia celebrada ahir al Grand Ole Opry de Nashville, Kenny Chesney va ser escollit "Entertainer of the Year" dins de l'entrega dels 38th Annual CMA Awards.
Va ser una nit on va ser notícia la no aparició entre els premiats d'Alan Jackson, que feia temps que sempre sucava en alguna modalitat o altra.
El rànking de premis l'encapçalen Kenny Chesney (2), Brad Paisley (2) i Tim McGraw (2).
I atenció: a veure si encerteu qui es va endur la millor veu femenina i el millor duo? ... ... ... Efectivament, un any més, Martina McBride i Brooks & Dunn, aquests últims presentadors ahir de la vetllada. No sé, em costa de creure que cada any siguin els millors... Que no hi ha cap noia o cap duo més??? No dic que no s'ho puguin merèixer però, sincerament, cada any...
Destaquen entre els premiats Gretchen Wilson com a millor promesa i Keith Urban com a millor veu masculina.
Entre les actuacions musicals destacables de la nit, va haver-hi les d'Alan Jackson i Patty Loveless (Monday Morning Church), la de Brad Paisley i Alison Krauss (Whiskey Lullaby) i la del grup de Jimmy Buffett, Clint Black, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith and George Strait (Hey Good Lookin').
George Strait va interpretar en solitari el seu darrer single, "I Hate Everything" i el premiat Kenny Chesney va fer el mateix amb "I Go Back".
Entre les no tant destacables actuacions (ei, segons el meu punt de vista) hi ha la de Shania Twain i Billy Currington amb el tema "Party for two", inclòs en l'últim recopilatori de la Twain.
