Willie Nelson també contra la Guerra de Bush
Aquests dies, diferents mitjans de comunicació s'han fet ressó de la nova cançó de Willie Nelson, Whatever happened to peace on earth, una crítica ferotge a la Guerra d'Irak i més concretament al president Bush, al qui tracta de mentider obertament.
La cançó en qüestió va ser escrita va unes setmanes pel llegendari cantant, de 70 anys d'edat, després de veure les notícies del dia de Nadal (El Telenotícies Migdia ianqui, vaja...). Imaginem que el què hi va veure no li va agradar gaire i va pensar: què millor que fer una cançó de protesta, al més pur estil "Raimon-anys 70".
No interpreteu la meva ironia com que trobi inadequat escriure una cançó contra la barbàrie que Bush i companyia volen escampar pel món. Tot el contrari.
Però deixeu-me discrepar potser del moment: Nadal (època tendra que és més fàcil que toqui la fibra dels americans i no el vegin com un simple "traidor a la pàtria"), en un futur any electoral als USA (la va presentar oficialment en un miting d'un dels candidats demòcrates, Dennis Kucinich) i, a més, molt més tard que altres es mullessin el cul (amb perdó) com per exemple les Dixie Chicks. Sense anar més lluny, quan fa que va començar aquesta guerra? No va començar el dia de Nadal...
Però repeteixo, m'alegro que en Willie Nelson hagi escrit aquesta cançó i sincerament no vull criticar-lo per això; només dir un "ja era hora!". A veure si això ajuda a recapacitar a més d'un. Només em queixo que potser arriba massa tard. Però ja ho diuen, millor tard que mai!
Per això felicitem a en Willie Nelson pel pas que ha donat i esperem que sigui aquesta la tendència social entre els cantants county americans (com per exemple Dixie Chicks, Steve Earle, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson,...) i no pas la contrària, molt més bel·licista (Clint Black, Toby Keith,...).
